Irrigation Technician / Landscape Construction
Experienced Irrigation Technicians only, please. Relevant irrigation experience is a must for this position.
If you’re an experienced irrigation technician who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and having a job where every day is different, we want to hear from you.
Mustang Landscape is growing, and we’re adding to our team this fall. We are looking for an experienced Irrigation Technician. This is a hands-on, varied role focused on residential irrigation, with opportunities to work across landscape construction, planting, equipment operation, and other areas of the landscape industry.
You won’t be doing the same thing every day. One day you might be troubleshooting an irrigation system, the next you could be installing a new system, completing a seasonal service, operating equipment, or helping with a landscape construction project. The variety keeps the work fresh and gives you the opportunity to continue building your skills.
Because you’ll often be working independently in the field, you need to be confident diagnosing irrigation issues, making decisions, and completing work without constant supervision. We’re looking for someone who knows their way around irrigation and can take ownership of their work.
We work on some of Greater Victoria’s most beautiful residential properties and take pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and doing things right.
What You’ll Do
Independently install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain residential irrigation systems
Diagnose irrigation issues and determine practical, efficient solutions
Perform irrigation start-ups, adjustments, seasonal maintenance, and winterization blowouts
Work independently in the field while communicating effectively with the team
Operate power tools and equipment for trenching, installation, and landscape construction
Use hand tools for detailed irrigation repairs and adjustments
Assist with landscape construction and planting projects when required
Operate small landscaping equipment safely and effectively
Work on a variety of properties and projects throughout the season
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and professionalism
Provide excellent service when working on client properties
What We’re Looking For
Relevant irrigation experience is required. This is not an entry-level position.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on irrigation installation and maintenance experience
Experience troubleshooting and repairing residential irrigation systems
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of irrigation work in the field
Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using power and hand tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Able to assess an issue, determine a solution, and get the job done without constant direction
Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team when projects require it
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Landscape construction or horticulture experience is a strong asset
Customer service experience is an asset
Physically capable of lifting, bending, digging, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence required, with the ability to drive a company pickup truck
Why Mustang?
Because you won’t be stuck doing the same thing every day.
This is a great fit for someone who already knows irrigation and wants a role with variety, independence, and room to keep learning.
You’ll work on different properties, encounter different challenges, and have the opportunity to build your skills beyond irrigation through exposure to landscape construction, planting, equipment, and other aspects of the industry.
We value people who take pride in their work, think for themselves, solve problems, and are always looking to learn something new.
Mustang is a COR Certified, Living Wage Employer and an award-winning landscape company, recognized for excellence in landscape design and project construction.
