Construction Team Member

If you enjoy being outdoors, working with a great team, and learning something new along the way, you’ll fit right in at Mustang.

Mustang Landscape is growing, and we’re adding to our team this fall. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Construction Team Member. You’ll work alongside experienced landscape professionals building and maintaining beautiful residential landscapes throughout Greater Victoria.

This is a hands-on role with lots of variety. You might be excavating and preparing a site one day, installing drainage or hardscape the next, and working on planting, irrigation, lighting, or other landscape projects after that. You’ll often be learning something new, picking up practical skills, and taking on new challenges as you gain experience.

What You’ll Do

Depending on the project and the season, your days may include:

  • Landscape construction including excavation, drainage, base preparation, and hardscape installation

  • Irrigation installation, repairs, and troubleshooting

  • Planting and pruning

  • Landscape lighting installation

  • Water feature installation

  • Lawn cutting, edging, and seasonal lawn maintenance

  • Weeding and cultivating

  • Operating small landscaping equipment

  • Using a variety of hand and power tools

  • Loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials

  • Working alongside the team to complete projects safely and efficiently

  • Communicating professionally with clients when working on their properties

  • Learning new skills and taking on more responsibility as you gain experience

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know how to do everything when you start. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning.

  • Genuine interest in landscaping, horticulture, or working outdoors

  • Horticultural education or previous landscape experience is an asset

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Comfortable taking direction and applying feedback

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Reliable and hardworking

  • Good attention to detail and pride in your work

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Physically capable of lifting, digging, bending, and performing hands-on work

  • Customer service experience is an asset

  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence required, with the ability to drive a company pickup truck
